The High Street Poem by chize ryan ogunkah

The High Street

The melting pot of the lush and lowly
From Alaska to Tripoli
And tunics from Arabia to Madagascar
For all prancing pocket sizes

The unplanned meeting point of all and sundry
Where daring destinies collide
The opulent prince meets the penniless pauper
And formidable friendships are formed

The town's part that never sleeps
But cradles the dossers to safely sleep
for Henry, Hakim and Hattie
Even when the days are dreary or rough

A certainty which it faithfully holds
Is that paths will definitely cross
By day, or night or ever
Making memories forever

The beauty of this colourful centre
Is the glimmer of hope in its sky
That stays hovering (hanging) above all
For anyone who has the faith to look up
