'For fifty years he held her close they laughed they cried, they sometimes joked they often spoke of days they shared of dashing youths without a care. The grey haired lovers in full embrace with sunshine beaming from their face fingers intwinded as if were one a lifes long love so filled with fun they made a daughter, then a son.' this is a sorry well worth telling, beautiful
I'm so happy that it seems that a lot of people can relate to this...it's like relationships were strong back then......for some.....lucky ones...
It really is a beautiful poem, Annette. My parents never stopped loving each other. sadly my mother was relatively young when she died and my father was never the same again and never remarried. So I can identify with your poem in a very real way.
Very heartfelt poem, it must be hard when a lifelong companion is lost.
