The Greatest Weapon Poem by Randy McClave

The Greatest Weapon

The greatest weapon that there ever was
Which every brave man is ultimately afraid of,
It has caused countless injuries in it's many wars
On every mountaintop and on all shores.
It has caused more pain than many can't forget
More suffering than being stabbed with a bayonet,
And many times your trusted ally will become your foe
Because of this dreadful weapon they surely do know.
This weapon can literally destroy anyone
And it has caused many to become scared or a pawn,
It doesn't have a fuse on it to be lit
And there is no button on the weapon to ignite it.
Without thought it can destroy any soul or person
And then ultimately lead their life to worsen,
It's the greatest weapon that has ever been made
Of which every man is soulfully afraid.
No one knows when this weapon might be used
And no man knows exactly how it might be defused,
So, every man that I know lives in constant worry and fright
Thinking maybe this weapon will be used tonight.
Every second this weapon slowly ticks away
And for peace and tranquility every man gets on his knees to pray,
I wish that this weapon not to be used ever again
All that it causes is torment and hate and sin.
It has destroyed and tore so many innocent lives apart
It has even killed the very heart,
This weapon that causes deaths, hatred and fears
This weapon is known, as a woman's tears.
