KALI MATI RESIDENCE aka The Greatest Boon
by Sylvia Frances Chan

The greatest boon
one afternoon
I have seen that again
life is one great simplest pain
it is now itching again
so much pain
and the monsoon rain is back again!
the greatest boon
that afternoon
I was wrong
since my sadness was too strong
the greatest boon
that late afternoon
was not the moon too soon
in such late afternoon
it was the sun
but not for fun
I stood solemnly
so much gravity
at my beloved Mum's graveyard
I felt so smart
and stupid
at the same minute
it was not the moon too soon
nor the sun
for fun
it was my great sadness
in all its simpleness
at the foot of Kali Mati (pronounce: "Kalee Matee" thank you)
not a high mountain
nor a fresh fountain
my loving heart
commanded me
Sylvie
sob your overwhelming very sad heart
and let glide
at the Kali Mati
sad side

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Poet's Note: at this moment I am in Jakarta, Indonesia visiting my only bro in our parents' home and paying a solemn visit to my beloved Mum's present residence 'Kali Mati' is the name the front gate to her present residence next to God The Omnipresent BIO Kali Mati (Kalee Matee) lies outside Jakarta, this graveyard is called KALI MATI to the existing river Kali Mati wgiunch means DEAD RIVER, this is the latest graveyard constructed as the latest, since all graveyards IN Jakarta are all occupied and there was no more ground left for a new graveyard, all areas have been used to build new houses for the crowded Super Megacity Jakarta, and as we all know Jakarta is drowning slowly on, the ground is too soft and about that drowning still three decennia to go, President JOKOWI has instructed to move the presidential residence to Kalimantan, another great Island opposite Java Isle.

What an outstanding poem! The overwhelming emotions, the easy flow, the rhyme and rhythm all make it a great read. Thanks for sharing. It's truly inspiring.
