The Great Pretender Poem by Aez NewHeller

The Great Pretender

The talk while we walk,
The laugh when I bluff,
The kiss that i miss,
Oh why did we hug? My answer's a shrug.

I don't know if that love was a lie,
But you made me forget to die.
I didn't mean that goodbye,
Coz i don't want myself to cry

But i was left with no choice.
I should stop hearing your voice;
And being one of your toys;
So others may rejoice.

Thanks for all the fun,
Thanks for everything you've done,
Thanks for the smile you've caused,
Thanks for the problems temporarily lost.
