The five Pandava brothers had only one good friend
He was Krishna, who made them
Emerge victorious in Kurukshetra
Great exhorter and charioteer, he
Re established righteousness,
Eradicating all the evil designers;
At the same time, many ill advisers
Thronged the hundred Kaurava brothers
Few great like Bheeshma and Vidur,
Respected gurus like Drona and Kripa,
In due course, fell in the emotional trap of
Envy-laden Duryodhana and Sakuni,
Notorious game of dices and the nefarious act towards
Draupadi paved the way to total devastation;
Since very long Dritarashtra and Gandhari
Had been blind and blindfolded;
It however gives a great lesson, too: the criterion of good friendship is
Perfectly based on quality, rather than on quantity
(An Acrostic poem. First letter of each line spells out " THE GREAT FRIENDSHIP ")
