The Grand Gesture Poem by Varghese J Kuttikat

The Grand Gesture

Sovereign Lord!
Would you declare everything forgivable?
Would the avowedly all-forgiving son
Mar the dazzling over-riding sovereignty of the Almighty Father
In a grand gesture of convincing expansiveness
Or was it in a wild frenzy of passion the creator
Lapsed into the folly of conceiving the crafty tempter
And folly upon mounting folly, set him free in the garden
That spoilt the beauty awesome, and desecrated, frustrated the human race
May the redeemer son inspired by the holy spirit mightily fight out
And reduce the evil one to dust, exalting the allied human glory
