The Good Samaritan Poem by john (called jack) wren

The Good Samaritan

In pain he lay upon the ground
Not knowing if he would be found,
A heart filled with ache his body bleeding
Would someone come to fill his needing?

A man of God came by that day!
And glanced upon him who lay,
A glance that was filled with scorn
Ate up the ground of him forlorn.

The midday sun scorched with its breath
The cold night waits with slyness and stealth,
But all passing ears were closed to his cry
As one by one they passed him by.

Then appeared a man of love
Sent to help by God above,
Confirming, that by selfless labour
Not to pass a helpless neighbour.
Luke Ch10 v25-37
