An amazing write! The stillness of night gives us the space to contemplate, moonlight and stars give inspiration to spill our thoughts on paper.

I agree with you completely. I write most of my poems in the silence of night. The whole of the night. When stars are shining brightly. It is the time for the birth of a poem. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thank YOU, Mr. Bryan Norton! : -) Your comment means a lot to me. The longer a person is on this site, he begins to notice that all poets share some similarity in the way their brains are wired! : -)

What an insightful poem. Loved it and it's so true. Oftentimes I'm in bed for the evening and a line of poetry comes to mind and I have to jump up to write it down. Your poem trumpets what many poets experience. Great job.

I tend to find my best inspiration at night, when everything calms down and my mind finds its quiet place. We usually find what works best for us, and we go with the flow. Great write, very easy to relate to.

In total agreement with you, dear poetess! I can't wait for night to come, so that I can start writing. And what inspiration one receives from the moon and stars in Northern Ontario! No wonder so many Americans are buying up the land there.

Canada is lovely- - the scenery; the clear skies. I have yet to visit (only seen photos!) , but I have a relative who goes every chance she can get! Thank you for commenting, Richard!

I totally relate to this. I do a lot of writing at night. Like at 1 to 3 am. The words are so true.

Thanks for your observation. I wonder if it's the mode that the brain is in, at that time- - With me, it's all the shift work I've done, so I'm usually in 'night owl' mode, anyhow! Be blessed!

I find that I can write better at night. It is quieter and the stars and moon can inspire you. Very truthful writing.

I think that, at night, you are more relaxed, and that makes it easier for creativity to surface. Stress can choke off creativity and stifle it. Although an inspiration can hit most anytime!

Loved every line! Extremely well written! Morning can produce some good groggy poetry I would imagine.

Actually, O Captain my Captain, some of my best inspirations are already there upon awakening. My 'Mad sock-eating society' was one of those. Freshly out of bed, no breakfast even yet, and that poem poured itself out on paper. So ARRRGH, ye Buccaneer! :) Thanks for the comment!

the poets come out at night when their minds take to flight, rising above themselves where they hear no one else their minds become like the moon stationery in thought, yet bright as can be that's what a poet is to me.
