Great Poets, I am told
That your words are made of gold
You possess a great style
Which inveigles the readers to smile
All night long, all day long
It is like a humming song
Which does not go away
Like a regretful sorry day.
Great poets, I have been cautioned
That your rhymes are like diamond
Your exotic sonnets are divinely beautiful
The octave and the sestet are quite wonderful
Great Poets, once in a while, write bad poems
It is better to write bad poems
Than to write none, zero
And to fall short of being called a hero.
Great Poets never hit rock bottom
Under the sun, all rewards are subjective
You must belong to the exquisitely active
Club, to the sophisticated circle of friends
As it is rare for them to win platinum
Great Poets write in order to lend hands
To do masterful works or legendary masterpieces
Great Poets write about everything and all species.
