By LI Yu Translated by East Sea Fairy
With reddish blushes on my face,
and a golden hairpin holding in position my hair,
I go to meet you briefly and we fondly embrace
and hug each other tightly in the flowers fair.
You're fully and well aware
of my love to you
and I swear
that your tender love to me I'm in the know, too.
God testifies our love true.
Awakening from the fond dream,
I feel and find,
that my brocade quilt is cold and into a pool of teary cream,
the burning red candle has declined,
and into a pile of cinders the incense has consigned
they're true reflections of our frames of mind.
and my pillow are soaked by my tears beaucoup
my mind the eagerness and earnestness for you grind,
and yearning and longing my heart accrue.
To bear the leaking sound of the water clock I make much ado.
