One of the best poems ever written I think - one statement, expressed in a great way....pity that German poems can't reveal their true beauty to everybody 'cause not everybody speaks German. The great advantage of english speaking poets like Shakespeare, Frost, Wilde or Shaw is that nowadays nearly everybody can read their poems like they wrote them, not translated. Pieces like 'The Hostage' lose some of their brilliancy when translated...
