SHEL was one of my children's favorite authors.. The tree wasn't trying to keep score. Your love is not something someone can earn... it's freely givenearn

Poor tree, gave everything away but was happy in the end.....lovely story. I have a Weeping Willow in my lounge at home. It will probably outlive me now. When I first got it my son pointed out that it's leaves were pointing towards me, away from the sun. He said that was because it liked me.

The pure and unconditional love is like this tree---always giving till the last remnant of her life.

Truly the poem's Title is very worthy to the fact that she (the tree) is cinstantly GIVING. A most beautiful poem THOUGHT and worded by the great thinker poet Shel Silverstein. I truly enjoyed immensely!
