Most beautifully worded, but true full melancholy, sadness and sorrows. Daunting poem, and as I am guessing, this poem has been chosen for the third time as The Modern Poem Of The Day, most deserving, I reckon. CONGRATULATIONS to the family of the late poet. For me this is an eerie poem by a classic poet. But most beautiful in its tune. His dreamlike visions had much similarities with Blake! Really.

All the night's dews, All the world's leaves, All winter's snow Seem with their quiet to have stilled in life's dream All sorrowing now. great poem of Walter de la Mare

So touchingly inscribed on tragic and peace. I found it second time chosen as the modern poem of the poem of the day. Congratulations.

It’s a wonderful poem of Walter de la Mare. It fuses life with nature immaculately. It creates a strong quantum effect where time appears to be relatively stable. Thanks for posting. Chandan

Mournful and subdued! The lines simultaneously produce a sad and calming effect on the reader! A great poem from a great poet!

I like this poem for its craft—its accessibility, the simplicity in its parallel structure. And I relate in feeling of it—until the last line. Why, I wonder, are these things in nature sorrowing? -GK

its not that scary as I thought but I love I like the starting because of the peace word and it looks like you are reading a prayer out.
