The General Without An Army Poem by Stephen Olufemi Omolara

The General Without An Army

Rating: 5.0

Will you believe it,
if you were told that I am this general that can pull mountains down,
Whose large palms, the sky can rest
With bulged muscles to make the world assured,
With fighting skills from thousands years up nparalleled.
With unrivalled strategy cultivation the envy of all?
I am a general who can fight with all without fear.
The war cries: the lullabies I like most.
The war drums add springs to my feet.
My hands are trained with all battle feats to try
Everywhere I go, I make my enemy to cry.
Will you believe it now that my strength is waned; I am all alone in the battlefield.
My bones are wearied from the burdens of the conquests made.
My body is weak from the sword marks of the giants slayed.
Yes this is to say that no conquest without sacrifice.
Now I look around me in the this desolate field of the battle I won.
No artilleries no archers, no air support, no Navy.
The last combat team has long gone.
Only I left the battle to fight.
Will you believe it that I'm a general without an army?
