Remembrance of God may be in many ways:
The process of remembrance in the heart is jikir
Meditating god in the stations of the body
This jikir is called purifying the lataif/lotifa/
stations of the body:

Jikir may seem easy but the best of all worships people heap,
Jikir is the tree of shade in Jannah,
Jikir is promised with abundance of rewards and gifts comparing with other worships,
Jikir saves you from forgetting of one's own welfare and side by side saves mind from dry death,
Jikir takes one to a position that it better to sleep of jikir doer than keeping late hours at night of a nonjikir doer,
Jikir becomes a noor/light and gives association here and in the grave, jikir will lead you in the pulsiiaat/the bridge of danger during last judgement,
Jikir is the root of ilmi tasoof, that is admitted by all imaams of all tariqa, and one who has opened the door of jikir, he has got the way for ma'rifat/spirituality,
Jikir is such a thing that only can fill the certain coner of the kwalb/heart whereas no substance is able, this makes the jakireen a wealthy man having no wealth, gets honor without any dear or near ones, an emperor without a society, and he who neglect jikir he is dishonored despite of wealth and relatives,
Jikir centralize the good ones and decentralize the bad ones, after love of Allah make peaceful heart ever and ever peaceful,
Jikir breaks the slumber of mind and make it cautious.
