2) I can easily visualize John Lennon and Yoko Ono on that infamous album cover. Both were staunch anti-war protestors.
The symbolism and metaphors are fascinating and absolutely brilliant when seen through the eyes of war. Alex Colville was a war artist. In several war films, cows and/or soldiers drinking milk leave an indelible impression on the audience. As does 'the glare of the lightbulb'.
I love Colville's art. Saw his exhibit at the AGO a few years back. You described that piece perfectly
