i'm reading your recent postings and came on this one. i definitely relate to the last stanza. in my own case a seed (or germ) had been planted that God could be known personally, and i did everything i could to meet God. you know, of course, that our striving or effort counts for nothing, but how wonderful to discover this and experience the grace of God opening our understanding(!)
i've been reading in the gospel of john lately, and your poem reminds me of statements of jesus about the reality of God calling, of jesus calling, and us recognizing his voice and responding.
