The Fire That Consumed Me Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

The Fire That Consumed Me

Holy Ghost...
The Fire That Consumed Me,
A baptism, where flames ignite,
A tale of fire's consuming might.
A spark, a blaze, a fervent call,
The Holy Spirit's touch, enthrall.

Holy Ghost...
The Fire That Consumed Me,
A subtle warmth, a gentle glow,
Gratitude's seed begins to grow.
Peace unfurls its wings of grace,
Reverence whispers, love's embrace.

Holy Ghost...
The Fire That Consumed Me,
But lo, the scriptures speak of fire,
A burning deep, an ardent choir.
The Holy Ghost, a flame divine,
Ignites a passion, heaven's sign.

Holy Ghost...
The Fire That Consumed Me,
Conviction's heat, a purging flame,
Refines the soul, removes all blame.
A guiding light, a beacon bright,
The Spirit leads, dispels the night.

Holy Ghost...
The Fire That Consumed Me,
And in the midst of trials' strife,
Comfort descends, a balm for life.
The fire consumes, yet purifies,
A transformation that beautifies.

Holy Ghost...
The Fire That Consumed Me,
So let us yield, embrace the fire,
Its warmth, its glow, its pure desire.
For in this flame, God's presence dwells,
A love that conquers, forever swells.
