...............nature's fury can be terrifying....I would not wish to experience an earthquake or any natural disaster...........I wish your friends find faith and hope for a better tomorrow.....great poem :)

The prophet who lives next door shakes his head. Fixing emotion is definitely one wonderful task. Generally many feel worries due to loss of hoe and ambition about future. In such cases keeping patience and standing with courage is an important task. This poem is definitely a mile stone and nice poem for awareness. Great work the great poet.

When we hear about and witness with our own eyes the natural calamities like flood, drought, landslides, earth quakes, volcanic eruptions etc and man made disasters like war, terrorist attacks, bloodshed and violence, we are apt to conclude that the end is nearing and we live in a state of perpetual fear! It is so very natural! But still, there is hope lingering....! Everything is not lost! With a radical change in people's attitude, we can still get back to a state of peace and tranquility! Only when we lose hope, future becomes bleak! As the man walks past the barn, he sees the animals had left weeks back! Through their sixth sense they could sense danger! How great it would have been if man had got this gift to discern danger in advance! Another wonderful write!

Living in a state where earthquakes are common, equating this metaphor with people's worries about future really resonates with me. No matter how optimistic we are sometime it is hard not to worry.

Premonition is quite a natural process with most of us since the future is totally unknown. But we all live with hopes only and with a collective noble efforts we may see a better tomorrow. I think it was a good write. It's the same old story: We are the most ancient bloodline. Our responsibilities are manifold. We must drink the whole cup of milk before it turns into blood.'- nice lines. This poem instills a new hope for humanity. nice write.

I don't know why, but somehow this poem reminds me of a movie I have seen, it is called Knowing -quite interesting! Your poem has almost the same impact. This poem is different than your other poems, but the imagery, the emotional intensity and your style shines beautifully. A great write!

Hope is important, but so is preperation. If the people in this prose poem had a sixth sense like their animals perhaps they could have prepared for the worst or ran away from it. However, if you lose hope then you lose any chance of preparing because now it seems pointless. This is wrong. A future is always there whether you see it or not. Whether it is good or bad depends on what you hope for it to be. If you have no hope then it will just be a wild card, maybe even an earthquake. ;) That is just my opinion about what you said in your Poet Note though. My opinion about your poem however is that it is very realisic and vivid in imagery. From the dark clouds looming over an ordinary evening to the victums of this tragedy appealing with their blind eyes to The Prophet. This poem is quite real. There is a time of earthquakes, Mr.Daniel, and there is a time of sunshine. Which are you hoping to be prepared for?

If we live with truth, love and kindness, hope will prevail for the future as we create our own destiny, fear is natural but if we build a better world together and allow the darkness to be replaced by the light of our hearts of true goodness to shine as a vision for a beautiful future!
