The Fight Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Fight

Rating: 5.0

I have no love left; I am all spent
Between the days waiting for you to come home
And the black eye you give when you do
I had enough!
Now, you're telling me you're having
A baby with another
And you are going to raise it with its mama
What about yr kids that you ignore?
The ones you had with me
The ones whom call you Daddy...
So, you're abandoning us
Don't say you're sorry because you aren't
I worked my hands raw
To provide you with a home
Where's the money you earned?
Nowhere
'Cause you never worked a day in yr life
Sponging off me for every cent
Drinking it up
Leaving yr kids without shoes or food
Just leave, and don't turn around
To ask me to forgive you
I'll never do that with my dying breath

A graphic vision of a most vile type of abuse. This is a brilliant verse, LeeAnn.

Your poetry reflects feel of anguish and anger of a leaving spouse and pretty right too but many times mistakes are from both sides that often go unnoticed and build into this huge mountain that visibly also occludes. thank-you for sharing.
