In English the word fall also means the season of Autumn when leaves fall from trees, so I didn't know what to expect when I clicked on this poem. What I found was the longest free fall I have ever experienced, and the poem is written in a long skinny line that seemed to duplicate the actual falling. You describe the fall with precise details that make it kinetic. But what I found running through the imagery was a sense of trust. The speaker trusts the man she is with at this moment, and that is a bottom line requirement for any future relationship. Will this love grow? I don't know - Stick around and it may show. (I find myself unconsciously quoting an old BEATLES song by
George Harrison - but it fits the context!) Well, if they do fall in love, they can look back to this moment of trust and excitement as the auspicious beginning.
