An exotic maiden in a land where people could not take their eyes off her. What attracted me is that apart from the physical appearance of this vivacious olive skinned beauty with pretty eyes, her inner beauty shone and captured the hearts of the people. A fabulous picture!

By many actions some women would dismiss her or think less of her and some men would also find only the physical attraction but the maiden transcends both by being something exotic and beautiful within. A chance to show that when people put their prejudices aside they can appreciate a kind hearted maiden that finds herself apart from the land and people that she loves but still has the spirit to bring her colorful world with her. Magic through natural means.

In corn country far from her village square... I like this poem... And you created a lovely description of the Mediterranean maiden. Another poem with a crown! You captured her spirit in the final stanza, but your description of how she affected the entire town was like a fairy tale. Well done... I can picture her and the entire scene.
