You have brilliantly depicted the two faces of religion: good and evil. Some people are using religion to cover their misdeeds and wickedness.

Excellent poem. As i always say religion is a fiat akin to politics. It is used to control the minds of people for the benefit of clergy and yet science in its broad sense is life and life is science.

Religion when practiced by some, is an evil thing indeed. A masterfully written poem, Chinedu.

Well painted. Religion is political and has nothing to do with God.

Religion has been used to manipulate the gullible followers for selfish ends. Interesting reading.

Thoughtful as well as poetic...religion has trespassed into the battlefield long before it could reach the souls of people...the thinker died believing it will do good, the propagators used it to undo...regards

No religion asks its followers to kill or harm followers of other religions. We, the followers sometimes stretch the commandments of religion to the extent that suit our requirements. That's when the trouble begins. Otherwise, religions and their preachers were peaceful.

As you say, religion is often a divisive force in the world. Each of the 3 monotheisms-Judaism, Christianity, Islam- believes that they alone are right and the others are wrong. Particularly Islam, I think, after reading a book on ISIS or just IS. A stimulating poem encapsulates all of this.
