The End Of A Cultural Drought. Poem by Shaun Cronick

The End Of A Cultural Drought.

Rating: 5.0

There is a date set in stone,
Or wishful thinking quicksand.
A national museum to open soon,
I hope things go as planned...

I'm one of so many others,
With their fingers crossed.
For this August 4th we open.
So many days we've lost.

People's health and safety,
Is paramount beyond a doubt.
A beloved museum so awaits,
The end of a cultural drought.

Hi again Shaun. This dumb website wouldn't let me post the five lines that I originally composed. Consequently I had to take several sentences out. What I was going to say was that this Long John/ Joan Silver business is catching. The other day I typed out Jenny instead of Kenny Dalglish! My excuse is that J and K are right next to each other on the keyboard but it could have been a Freudian slip.

Arts/ culture have badly affected by this nasty virus. I have a solution to the problem..new pantomimes beginning this Christmas season: featuring bonkers BoJo and his rotten crew and Treasure Island Traitors featuring Long John/ Joan Silver and his poetic parrot Polly. Moving on to more highbrow things, it's very important that museums and art galleries remain open...consequently it's a National Treasures ten from me!
