The sight of Ektara, half burned, can be a befitting image of human life
Thank you Suresh Kuma for reaching the soul of the poem
Lost in its melody's swing Meera danced And sang Bhajans that could merge herself With Krishna, the Lord of love, and sublimate. Meera's songs were always an attraction for me. a person who wanted to be one with God mystically. As you write dear poet, she wanted to emerge herself in the Lord of Love. thank you for this poem. tony
Thank you very much dear Dr.Tony. Every human being is an Ektara capable of giving out celestial melodies so sweet for all ears. Ektara, as you know, has been a singificanct instrument in music. The image of Meera with the Ektara is always an inspiration.
Such a beautiful analogy. With time everything lies in waste but the pleasure of soul is continuous and everlasting.
Thank you Savitaji very much for the comments. The immortals that the mortals create are marvellous and will continue everlastingly
Beautiful words of one stringed instrument. Can a melody reverbrate from a single string like a painter's brush on strokes. Beautiful words sir.
Thank you for the comments. To your query I may answer that Rktara is a very very old string instrument. Santh, Sadhoo and singers used it dearly. I firmly believe on the basis of evidence that the ancestry of modern string instruments ends in Ektara. Even today it is the dear instrument of the Baul singers
It is very strange.Your reply to my comment does not show, though in the email PH says that there is a reply to your comment.
A very deep and heart touching write with the imagery of 'Ektara', the Musical instrument lying with its sole string of bosom broken unable to play a dirge at its own funeral.Let me quote from this wonderful poem- - - 'The old EKTARA is lying half burned among the wastes in the street corner Like a disowned corpse in Manikarnika The, lone string of its bosom broken Of age and rust pulsates still in vain To play a dirgege at its own funeral'
Thank you very much dear poetess Bharati Nayak.. Every human being has an abundance of virtues within him/her. When the mortal body dies the virtues merge with the universal virtues. The state of human beings are pathetic when he/she is disowned by others who were eager to make him their own during his golden days
A poignant, deeply touching write imbued with a meaningful message and great imagery. Yes, there is immortality of our being. Our souls will rise and merge and be a part of the universal melody. Wonderful thoughts of a great mind wonderfully expressed and presented.
Music is divine, when the singer dies the divinity in him will merge with the universal virtues and will remain deathless. Every human being is an Iktara that has in it an immortal melody. Any damage can be caused to the mortal body and not to the soul
A glaring poem sir! I would love two quote your last two lines: Soul of the EKTARA has already merged/With the universal musical immortality! Appreciated and admired........................10/10
Thank you Dr. Dillip for the comments. Music is immortal, no matter if the instrument perishes. We human beings are a sort of EKTARA. Our gifts never follow us to the graves.
Music is a soul stirrer it plays it loves and it lives among the mortals as immortal. Beautiful thought.10++
Thank you very much for the comments. yes, the soul is immortal when the mortals that rear it up perish
It's unwise to Lament the loss of mortals; Soul of the EKTARA has already merged With the universal musical immortality....wow, superb and enjoyable writings on the Ektara, I enjoyed really Ektara On string Soul of rhythm Sole alone Touching heart Eternally Greatest companion to loneliness
Thank you very much Mahtab for the comments. Music is eternal. The singer may die but his music will remain deathless
A poem of great depth filled with wisdom. Brilliant analogy
