The Earth is a poem close to my sentiments for the Mother Earth. The bountiful nature has bestowed so much for us, but what have we done in return? Only destroy, all the time. Yes Bharati, You are right! Man is so foolish! . Very well written poem with a significant message.10+++
Thank you Madam Dr. Radhakrishna Menon for your kind comment.Protection of earth's environment is a responsibility of every citizen as well as every nation.If nations are engaged in stockpiling nuclear and hydrogen bombs, chemical weapons, and when there are war cry on religious, ethnic or racial issue, when material comfort and technological advance are the parameters of development, what future is there for earth?
This well demonstrates the present plight of Mother Earth. It touches on all the atrocities man is callously inflicting on her! Sadly he doesn't realize that he is cutting the branch on which he sits. Beautiful poem carrying a great message, Bharati!

Isn't, it amazing that our fellow humans can treat the planet so badly and not tremble in fear at what they are doing? You and I tremeble in fear but they just count their profits. Your poem is a warning that must be heeded but do suchpeople read poems with any sympathy? Keep writing your poems of appeal, theere must be voices that speak for the earth.
