With reference to 'The Dream Fairy' by Thomas Hood. The final verse I spoke of in my earlier comment could also have gone: But when a bad child goes to bed She waves her wand from left to right And makes a circle round its head, And then it dreams all through the night Of ugly horrid things instead! Can't quite remember which version is the correct one but it is definitely one or the other.

With regard to the poem 'The Dream Fairy' by Thomas Hood. I well remember learning this enchanting poem as a child when stumbling across it in a book of poetry. I can remember learning a further final verse which doesn't appear to be included here. If my memory is correct it went something like this: But when a bad child goes to bed She waves her wand from left to right And makes a circle round her wings, And then it dreams all through the night Of only ugly horrid things! Hope you have found this helpful and will consider restoring this lost final verse to this wonderful poem.
