Two stars appear in the dim sky,
When lovers gaze, admire in delight:
The time is short, dearer than gold-
One yearly parting, bestowed one night.

Time is deceptive. It sometimes appears to be short, sometimes long, but always comes to be short, dearer than gold when lovers gaze, admire in delight. Thanks for sharing this poem with us, Perdita Chandan

Thank you very much for the profound comment, Chandan.Time is deceptive and seems always against our will. We human beings are at the mercy of it and have very little to do about that.

A heart touching love poem. Beautifully crafted and has a smooth flow. Enjoyed. 'Two stars appear in the dim sky, When lovers gaze, admire in delight: The time is short, dearer than gold- - May the Moon be still and as bright.'..is really beautiful. Congrats.

'May the moon be still and as bright', tells me of the desire of the lovers to keep the magic of the moment locked, as time stands still. I don't understand the meaning of the Magpies in the poem?

Dear Adrian, I love your interpretation about the line and really appreciate your kindness. MAGPIES are symbols of happiness and good luck in Chinese culture. They seem to be very lively and very enthusiastic, and appear in folklore, fairy tales, operas and stories.

wow fantastic expression of love all through the poem- like to quote The mortal world celebrate in cheers, And lovers make the vow on this Day: That each to each they'd constant stay like Altair and Vega, thru the years.

This a beautiful poem on love and romance having touching expression. I mark the following lines impressive. Bliss is the moment's rendez-vous, Love like torrents pours in light'ning; With affections undying and true, They fear not the distance apart. Thanks and congratulations for being selected this poem as the poem of the day.

Wow! CONGRATULATIONS! What a great poem this is really! Mortal world celebrates many festivals in cheer here. But every material thing is temporary. Flying with freedom of love and light is nice.We are fortunate to have eternal heavenly love. An interesting poem is excellently penned. A nice poem is selected as the member poem of the day.
