Doo-Wop singing was in favor for quite a while in the 1950s. Many were male quartets, as in your poem. Do I recognize Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly, although they were rock singers not doo-wop?
Haha Michael, Chuck and Buddy were merely popular nicknames for boys during that era- - no relation to the famous rock singers. Strictly doo-wop here.
I had it more in mind something along the lines of early Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons when I wrote this.
