The Dog Walker Poem by james watkin

The Dog Walker

Without depriving, in valuing it
Human companionship
The walked benefits, with a leash to grip
Found not to go astray!

And though not brushing off what o'erhangs
A street, neighbourly
Its porched chimes, chatter as welcoming be
Out birds' leaf-swung doorway!

And onwards; to what's not missed at all;
Roofed, housed, back to glance.
In friends, through a new friendly acquaintance;
Upeared hare's; hops away!
