in the middle of the night she woke up with a pen in her hand
only to find the cows grazing in the dried out fields
these barren lands were never so filled with life stock
                      - growing fatter each day
her dad forgot to turn out the lights before he left for heaven
the electrisity bill hasn't been paid in a while.....
.... yet she can't seem to find the light for the borded up back door
her new daddy is a drunk
                bottles of water every where
how can he drink the stuff she wonders
as she kicks a half empty broken bottle
                                 the plastic is see-through
her little brother is sitting on the carpet
       playing with mommy's eyes
the cat dug them up.
