The Devils Cup Poem by susette varga

The Devils Cup

Rating: 4.5

Abstaining from the devils cup
Alcohol and cigarettes no more
Party days a thing of the past
I am determined to behave

A morning run to feel refreshed
And blow the cob webs away
Then a workout in the gym
To get rid of the stress for the day

Fresh fruit and a smoothie for breakfast
Continuing in a healthy way
Throughout the day
No carbs or milk allowed
Only vegan foods for me

My plans in place
It feels so good
Oh damn
Who am i trying to kid

Knowing me
I'll last two days
Does wine count
As one of my 5 a day?

Does abstinence really make the heart grow fonder and break the cycle of bad habits? abstinence i think helps you forget quickly.. the less you see someone or do something the easier it is to forget and bad habits are only bad if they disrupt your day to day life. If they do not then surely your bad habit is merely an occasional pleasure to be enjoyed? x

Abstinence is a discipline that helps to break the cycle of dependency on bad habits, bad company and bad thoughts. It gives you more freedom to do things that bring lasting happiness.
