'Ugly, bony, truth': I love this meeting of the physical and the abstract. The terse, compact images give the poem so much force. I like the insight into the part in this guilty game played by the decorator as well, the final line landing with such powerful bluntness. I've learnt from this poem, Gyps, thank you. Kind regards, Gina.
I like the imagery of this poem and it's use of alliteration - all those Bs and Ds. I think it's one of your best. We all have skeletons in the cupboard which we take pains to lock away. Congratulations.
That is excellent! It fits like a surgical glove (which only fits if it looks like it's always been part of the hand. H
Thank you for the compliment Herbert. I agree with you about that line. I have now changed it from 'Of his craftmanship' to 'Of the part he's played'. I think this is much better. I hope you agree. KRXX SG
I think it's a ninepointseven, could be a ten if you change one clumsy and inappropriate (for the occasion) word. How does it feel to have talent? H
Interesting poem, keeps the reader guessing as to just what is the secret. Good poetry technique of repetition three times of the word 'deep'
Abstract grafitti? a crime of self identity? a ten for keeping me guessing! ! ! !
