A fascinating poem, LeeAnn. I wish you had included a poet's note to tell us more about this. My gut feeling is that this poem is about Emily Dickinson, but am I wrong? Did you have a close friend named Emily who just passed away? Tell us more, please! (Thanks for posting.)
