In townscapes caught in the unnatural glare The false solace of man-made brightness; Comfort and anguish mingle together Bedpartners in unlikely clasp Trying to cancel out mortal peaks and troughs. crumbs of comfort......... very descriptive but somehow sad. shall we love all innocently especially the poor children of the world. then we will be able to smile and be happy. tony

Paul Gerard Reed, Your poem is a reminder of how people seek solace within our own families, friends and communities. The need for comfort and affirmation is also seen with your poem the day is nearly done) as is the descriptive title. You have really pointed out how precious life really is. thank you for writing this somewhat intense and real poem............Blessings in your life, writing and work..............Kathy
