The Darkness Poem by Jesse Mejia

The Darkness

Rating: 2.0

Have you ever noticed,
darkness is the single thing most fear?
when lights depart it fills its place
and makes me hold you near.

you say 'you fool don't fear the dark
theres nothing there to fear.'
but as the light escapes the room
your voice is hard to hear.

it causes shadows to dance about,
wicked voices fill the air.
it reminds me of those i loved and lost
and those who did not care.

i told them not to leave me here
i told them not to go.
but as they left the darkness came
i've never felt so low.

so in the dark there memoirs live
there voices fill my ears.
not even the comfort of your voice
could stop these retched tears.

they left me here alone and hollow
to tell those who wish to die,
for those that drive and strive for death
and believe they only cry.

no matter how the world does seem
there will always be much pain,
but without the suffering and torment
there can never be a gain.

so those who suffer and live in pain
for those whose wrist do hack.
do you peffer the warm bright light
or the cold disturbing black?

I gave this poem a seven because it did have as rhyme scheme that was followed. There are some poems that start out well be finish poorly. I thought this one ended quite well. There are mistales and I didn't think te rhythm was very distinctive or made it worthy of recommendation,
