The Darker Silhouette. Poem by Jethro Kisakye Mark

The Darker Silhouette.

Silent screams fill my ears
Shadows stalk my darkest fears
Demons sing a tuneless song
To the beat of shadows, all day long.

In this mad world where shadows play
Demons mutter truths in a silly way
My shadow laughs with an empty grin
A mockery of me trapped within.

In darkest day, it finds its peace
A morbid calm where fears release
The shadow squirms with joyous pain
Embracing demons in this loveless game.

Dawn wears a borrowed smile
Demons sleep and shadows pile
Darkness disguises itself in light
My shadow cowers till the next surprise.
