The Dark Shadow In My Dream Poem by Hebert Logerie

The Dark Shadow In My Dream

I woke up in the middle of the night sweating.
In my dream, a dark shadow is flying and floating,
In the room, not too far, from the window.
I made sure that my eyes were wide open,
That I was not hallucinating like a bozo.
I tried to touch that shroud, but I failed. Then,
I returned to sleep. The shadow appeared again.
This time, I saw it wearing a very pretty gown.
Was that a phantom visiting the town?
Was that an obsession, a true dark shadow?
In my dream, that was a beautiful rainbow
That I shall not forget. Perhaps, I have been
Thinking of you too much. It is an obvious sin
To have you dancing like that in my head:
You're making too much noise in my bed.
You're having an impact on my spiritual being.
I must be hallucinating. I must be seeing
Things. No, no, that was not the case at all.
That was the dark shadow of your existence.
I've been thinking of you too much. Your presence
Haunts me, even though you're no longer physical.
