They may try to stir up some ''fun''.
I think it's the kick of excitement
they get when they see what they've done.

I think a bored poet should be fired with enthusiasm or fired; with entusiasm

I do see myself in this, although I'm not by any means bored...fun is good! Your poem is like the mirror image of a mirror, because of course your poem stirs up a little fun. I like it.

I'm probably one of those 'bored poets, ' but I'm not the one who uses big words, so I don't feel too bad being classified as such. I'm thinking about discarding my 'bored' look and returning as Spiderpoet, Superpoet, or Batpoet. I'm just a little confused, however, about your lines, 'I get nervous when things start to simmer/and peace is the only real sound.' Are you intentifying with the 'bored poets'? That would put an interesting twist in the poem, giving it some counterpoint. We need to band together and make sure that too much peace doesn't put everyone to sleep. I just asked another poet if this was a lonely-hearts club, but I haven't heard back. Everyone around here acts like a serious poet and takes what he does seriously, so why blow smoke. We all like praise, but sometimes we need a fellow poet to point out our excesses. Our poems are not sacred texts; they are our humble attempts to make sense out of this existence and do it in a beautiful way, avoiding cliches. Don't we all want to be great poets. If we do, then we need to keep our tools sharp and get help from each other. I love praise too, but I get a list of suggestions for improvement from other poets like Raynette and I'm grateful because I'm not so good that I don't step in it and track it all over many of my poems. Peace is not what this is about. Discord is not the currency either. It's about making fine poems that we can be proud of. Having said that, I must also say, I'm not 'bored.' I'm on fire about poetry. I want to start fires and I don't want to read 'boring' poetry.

I dig lovely poets who believe in the magic of self-expression, let's hope the unlovely poets will become lovely poets shortly.
