Yes, the cross remains forlorn and deserted, reminding generations of the great suffering borne on it! Those who carry the cross in hands and hang it on their neck never realize the depth of sacrifice and renunciation, it symbolizes and never try to imbibe the essence of teachings of the one who chose to be the sacrificial lamb! ! Enjoyed this great write! !
I like this evocative poem, tinged with sadness and yet bearing the message of hope. I can picture the church, so well described in the first and last verse.
