The Contemplatives, Who Forsake Poem by james watkin

The Contemplatives, Who Forsake

The contemplatives who forsake
The world for a thought
Shadow no murky ruins of
Byronic rakes wrought.

Nothing more furtive, when to
Elope with saints fair
Than the candles' flickering;
And the whispered prayer.
