The Collector's Maid. Poem by Ross Mabey

The Collector's Maid.

Poem - The Collector's Maid.

By - Ross Mabey.

When the daylight fades and the day is done,
The cold wind blows, when there's no more sun.
Hopefully, tomorrow will bring the joy you've sought,
But, if you don't survive night, you‘ll end up with naught.

There's no place, you can go to escape past,
It will catch up with you, no matter if you're slow or fast.
The debts incurred, need to be paid,
There's no place, you can go to escape the collector's maid.

Pay your dues while you can,
It's easier to pay the maid, than having to pay the man.
Her terms are easier, while he doesn't listen to excuses,
He takes what's owed, you can't refuse him.
