The Children Of Woodstock Poem by Richard Wlodarski

The Children Of Woodstock

Rating: 5.0

We are...
The children of Janis
Wondering what went amiss
In all that is loneliness

We are...
The children of Jimi
Hearing The Wind Cries Mary
Leading us to Foxy Lady

We are...
The children of Ritchie
Whose songs about slavery
Liberated bravery

We are...
The children of Sly
Who went so awry
From chanting PEACE cry

The Woodstock Generation
Has lost its place in nation
We've become passive
And quite dismissive

I have tried numerous times to respond to comments made by all the poets. For some strange reasons, PH is really messing up on this one. I guess they don't like hippies!

Beautifully written in a pleasant pattern of rhythm and rhyme. The past has a history so meaningful. By remembering them, we can learn a lot and it shows us a path of peaceful existence.
