This is interesting, and you make a strong point: that souls are just like us - complacent. Even though that helps us to understand why some don't leave, this is still haunting to me. It might be your chair but can you not sit in it when I'm around? lol just saying. Also I hadn't heard of people closing up their homes after a death, but that is definitely an interesting way to open the poem. It drew me in and caught my interest if nothing else.
