Jesus was humiliated
He was spat upon and mocked,
He was loathed and hated
And he was shoved and knocked.
He was punched and he was kicked
He was struck upon with a staff,
Then he was cursed at
As he carried the cross on the path.
Jesus was then crucified
He was hung between Heaven and Earth,
For ours sins he suffered and died
Salvation was then given birth.
I was there and I watched it all
I know the entire righteous story,
Once I was lost, then I was found
Jesus gave me salvation through his glory.
They gave him sour wine to drink
But, that offer he quickly refused,
I was there and I saw it all
After the chief priests had accused.
They put a scarlet robe on him to wear
On his head was placed a crown of thorns,
Then they led him to be crucified
Those accusing were the ones in horns.
After the ninth hour
A darkness then fell upon the land,
Jesus cried out and yielded up his spirit
Then all felt and saw God's mighty hand.
The veil of the temple was torn in two
And the earth quaked and all were amazed,
Rocks were split and graves were opened
And the bodies of saints who were asleep were raised.
All this had truly happened
Miracles witnessed by those lost and flawed,
I was the Centurion who watched and then said;
"This man was truly the son of God."
