The Butterfly Effect Poem by Scott J. Shepard

The Butterfly Effect

I've seen that in literature,
every word has its cause for a chain reaction.

But still I find myself
terrified of their consequence.

Like a domino effect
One word can symbolize a few bad apples bitten.

Or like an arrangement of ducks
till the goose obtrudes and
eventually all must take their turn
in existence's wild chase.

It's a vicious circle,
a catch 22, a bad apple's view
.
They scream "Pick your poison! ",
with a rainbow of flavors.

But in the end,
the chaos of a word
becomes all too unpredictable

So I have created
an escape for the common man.

As the authority of these words are a chair
and I am only a broken heart.
