A truth. Karma holds. We all are such bulls in some way or other. A thematic poem. Nice

Dear Kesav, I would say that we are all tied up with the chord of destiny that can be made favourable if we are desirous

Part 2. Moreover, the lines reminded me of the opening chapters of "Gurusagaram" the famous novel by OV Vijayan. Full score, Sir.

The poem shakes the reader to the core. Very realistic and compassionate writing. The lines …. The bullock…" tied to the mango tree /Like man is held fast to life with the cord of endless ambition " reflects the philosophy enshrined in The Vedas"

Thank you Suresh Kumar. We are suppoesed to love the animals in return to their gratefulness to us. Unfortunately modern time does not allow us to engage in such involvement

Thank you very much Richard for the encouraging comments. Animals deserve our consideration. Poor creatures, they do love us which we have to realise

Very nice poem. I agree with the comments of Terry Dawson. I am reading this poem because it was " showcased" by Bri Edwards. Thanks for posting.

Thank you dear poet for reading and commenting the poem. Animals too deserve our love and mercy. Their services for human beings should be remembered. They do have a sense to recognise our attitue to them

He was my pet bull: back from school, one day, I found him sold out A wish had since then been kept close to my heart to see him again Time on it's wings brought me here in this remote countryside To find him here under the yoke of the bullock-cart of my neighbour a great experience and feeling with the heart of an animal. your heart is pure dear Parameswaran Nair. thank you. tony

I think you 'want' its, not it's: " Time on it's wings" " stonny roads so long" i thought maybe 'stoney', but it's 'stony' " creeks of his bones" creek is a narrow waterway (my definition): creak is a sound last line made me laugh :))) how about BOTH God & 'dish'? to MyPoemList as a good story, and i may share (but maybe mention some misspellings?) bri ;)

It is the destiny of the beast to serve the needs of man in life and in death. It is the duty of man to honour the beast for its service and for its sacrifice. A very good poem, thank you!

Thank you dear poet. If the animals in human service could talk more stories of torture could have come up. Poor animals!

The poem is so touching! Animals are treated so badly by selfish men! The poor creatures slog under the heavy yoke. Once when unable to fulfill the task expected of them because of ill health or deterioration of the body, they are callously sent to the butcher. You have narrated the story of the bull in such a way that it will melt even the most hard hearted man. A sure 10

Thank you very much dear friend Valsa George. I have seen accidents involving bulla and bullock carts and the ill treat of the cartman to the poor creatures. It really hurt me and the wound is still bleeding
