The last two lines have hidden meaning to apply several areas of human life. The poet's nature of being a voracious reader is seen in the lines. Buying, reading, preserving and looking into the books again and again are essential for availing the full use of books. The contents of the poem will teach so much to the young.

The poem outlines the place of books in our life as well as the etiquette that the reader should adhere to while reading a book or its preservation. Thanks again. This is my second visit.

Life becomes full of love, care, responsibility, duty and success when we read book and gain knowledge. We can solve any misunderstanding through the art of knowledge of book. Writing and reading give us reflective learning and perception. This is a great poem indeed.

Madam, As an avid reader of books, I loved your poem on books. As you have mentioned in the first line, the images apply equally to people too, which is wonderful. Must choose one to taste, ........ ............................to last, A full term of life and love, ..... Make sure that you choose right... What a write! Thanks for sharing.10.

Books entertain and enlighten us to new peoples, places and situations, they become like a best friend we can rely on their contents to make us feel happy and to relate to the stories of our favourite books is a bond of moving our souls to find another soul like us! Many of the joys and feelings connected to books, so nicely described in this poem, have been part of my own experience. The books I love most are the ones with yellow pages, quite often in a real bad physical shape, but still finding so much pleasure and wisdom in the pages, upon each time they are in my hands.

Greetings. My bookstore was called Babbling Books I spent 22 happy years there listening to Mozart piano concertos. Retired for years and in a condominium of none under age 55. Good people. I had to buy many book shelves to contain my collection. A friendly crowding. I enjoyed your dissertation immensely. ta Wes Once again the ridiculous machine claims incorrect verification code. I shall go away and come back

The poem is an interesting read. All the book lovers become nostalgic when they talk about the books they loved to read, The new books carry the freshness and smell of prints. But the old books discovered years later or second hand books purchased from bookstores selling old books carry some mysteriousness about them. They have the imprints of old owner, his habits of reading, the sentences he underlined, the quotations he marked or the portions he left unread.Whether he was a child, , teenager, young man or woman, or any old man.How many hands it had passed through, whether dead or alive and so many other things.I like the idea that old books collected by kabadiwallas are sold in bookstores and can be re used and can be available to other readers. Thanks for sharing such a nice poem.

Interesting to see a poem on books. A book is a book whether old, new, tattered or torn. I too have a huge collection of books. They are my best friends.

Books - full of knowledge. It's where we get much of our education from. Yes, it's good to care for your books and keep them safe. Good advice. Thanks.

Great poem and dear to my heart is the subject of all books, as I have over 7,000 books of my own. I read them and cannot bear to part with them, as my knowledge and thoughts have been grown from reading them. Especially love the really old books from the 1800's,1920's through the 1960's, their voices ring truths from the past and are being held mostly true today. Reading takes me around the world, into people's minds, cultures, etc. while sitting in my own home. Really great poem, I love it! Profound write, I have enjoyed it! Thank you, RoseAnn
