The Black-Footed Cat Poem by Sophie Allyah

The Black-Footed Cat

I found out recently about these cute cats
Their prey is tinier than them like birds & rats
Sixty percent of their hunts are successful
Makes their achievements triple
Than those of lions, leopards and cougars
Their vision is six times better than ours
They cannot be located in Asia or America
But can only be found in parts of
southern and central southern Africa
They can't be kept as pets since they're wild
So in other words, they're not, at all, mild
At night they hunt, making them nocturnal
But sometimes also crepuscular
And weighing only 1 to 2.4 in kilogram
They're the only pink skin in wild cats fam
Including the tail their body length is
between 50-72 centimeters
When finding food at night they can
walk up to 35 kilometers
In the day they rest among rock tumbles,
hollow termite mounds, or in empty burrows
These solitary cats' black colors are
only in underparts of their feet,
tipped of their tail and in their pads
Not only they're Africa's smallest felines,
but also titled as the world's deadliest cats
